Pitch Recogntion in Softball
College level softball batters have almost exactly the same time to react to a pitch as college and professional baseball batters--less than one-half second. The best pitchers have an assortment of riseballs, dropballs, screwball, curves and changeups. And they pitch almost every game for their teams. A batter needs great technique and great PITCH RECOGNITION to succeed. The good news is that pitch recognition can be systematically trained.
