Jazz Activities

With digital music on the Internet as well as radio, people hear more music then ever. I believe that a lot more people, especially young people, would dig JAZZ if they learned about it and heard it in the right context. I've done jazz radio shows since my student days at the University of Wyoming, at community radio WYEP-FM in Pittsburgh, and I now host "Pete's Place" on Mondays 6:30-8 PM CT on community radio WDBX (91.1 FM) in Carbondale. I also do a PODCAST when schedule permits from the SIU Student Center Starbucks. I especially like early 1970s jazz fusion (Weather Report, Miles Davis, Mahvishnu Orchestra) and up to the moment jazz that appeals to rock and hip-hop listeners.
